This Privacy Policy ("Policy") is issued by Cosmic Hora ("Data Fiduciary", "we", "us" or "our") and governs the collection, processing, storage, and disclosure of personal data of individuals ("Data Principal", "you" or "your") who access or use our website and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

This Policy is framed in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including rules framed thereunder, as applicable.

By accessing or using the Platform, or by providing any personal data, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree, you must refrain from using the Platform.

1. Personal Data Collected

We collect only such personal data as is necessary for the specified purposes, and no more:

• Contact Data: name, gender, email address, and mobile number;
• Birth Data: date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth, provided by you — from which we calculate your birth chart, including your nakshatra (birth star) and rashi (moon sign), for generation of personalised astrological reports. Such data is treated as sensitive personal data;
• Technical Data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, and usage logs collected automatically;
• Payment-related data processed exclusively through our third-party payment gateway (Razorpay). We do not store complete payment instrument details.

2. Purpose of Processing

Personal data is processed strictly for the following lawful purposes:

• Generation and delivery of personalised astrology reports and related services;
• Communication of report status and delivery via email/SMS;
• Maintenance of Platform security, fraud prevention, and service improvement;
• Compliance with applicable legal obligations.

Birth Data shall be used solely for the purpose of providing the requested astrological services and for no other purpose.

3. Consent

Processing of personal data is undertaken on the basis of your free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous consent, obtained through clear affirmative action at the time you submit your details on the Platform. You may withdraw consent at any time, with the same ease as it was given, by contacting us at the details below. Withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

4. Disclosure and Sharing

We do not sell, rent, lease, or commercially exploit your personal data to any third party or advertiser.

Limited disclosure is made only to the following service providers, strictly for operating the Platform:

• Google Cloud (for hosting and storage of data);
• Google/Gmail (for delivery of your report and related transactional emails);
• Razorpay (for payment processing);
• Google Analytics (for website usage analysis);
• Our AI processing partner DeepSeek, to which only birth-chart parameters (calculated from your date, time and place of birth) and gender are transmitted, solely to generate the astrological report text. Your name, mobile number, and email address are never shared with DeepSeek;
• Competent authorities, when required under law or judicial process.

Your mobile number and email address shall not be disclosed to any third party for marketing or any other unrelated purpose.

5. Cross-Border Data Transfer

Certain service providers referred to in Section 4 (including DeepSeek, Google Cloud, and Google Analytics) may process data on servers located outside India. Where such transfer occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the data continues to receive a standard of protection consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

6. Security Safeguards

We implement reasonable security practices and procedures, including technical and organisational measures, to protect personal data against unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. While we take all reasonable steps, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be fully secure. In the event of a personal data breach likely to affect you, we shall notify you and the Data Protection Board of India, as required under applicable law.

7. Retention

Personal data shall be retained only for such period as is necessary to fulfil the purposes specified herein or as required under applicable law. Upon fulfilment of purpose or upon a valid request for erasure, data shall be deleted or anonymised within a reasonable time, subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Cookies and Analytics

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics (see Section 4), to understand usage patterns and improve our services. You may disable cookies through your browser settings; some Platform features may not function properly if you do so.

9. Rights of the Data Principal

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Obtain confirmation and access to personal data processed by us;
• Request correction, completion, or updating of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Request erasure of personal data;
• Withdraw consent, with the same ease as it was given;
• Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, in accordance with Section 14 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023;
• Seek grievance redressal with us, and if unsatisfied, file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

10. Children's Data

The Platform is intended for individuals who have attained the age of majority. We do not knowingly process personal data of children. In the event any such data is found to have been collected, it shall be deleted promptly upon becoming aware.

We reserve the right to amend this Policy at any time. The revised Policy shall be published on the Platform with the updated effective date. Continued use of the Platform after such publication constitutes acceptance of the amended Policy.
